Walking and Hiking
The Tourist Office Website Walking Page provides maps/routes for individual walks that you can download to your SmartPhone. (Select 'Marche' in the drop down box.) |
Grimentz is a great base for strolling, walking and climbing. We love the amazing wild flowers, tranquility and stunning views that greet you whether are following one of the easy walks at village level or whether you have ventured onto the higher slopes.
Val d'Anniviers has miles of well-signed walking trails which are detailed in the free leaflets from the Tourist Office. Click to see: Summer Walking Map. Many of these walks can be made as circular routes that start and end in Grimentz. You may wish to combine your walk with a free* trip on the highly reliable local buses that can take you to another village in val D'Anniviers or to the Moiry Lake. Another joy is to be transported to (and from if you wish) an altitude over 2100m in one of the free* cable cars that operate in summer, where you can enjoy a coffee in one of the mountain cafes or set out on your walk. Every holiday, we find some new walks and also return to our old favourites. We are very keen to share with these with you so we have produced a leaflet that will hopefully, 'get you on the right track'. Our information includes advice on the grade of walk, how long it takes us (allowing for all the time we spend admiring the scenery and flowers and taking photographs), what you can expect to see and any specific information about buses or cable cars. * This is part of the Anniviers Liberte offer from the Tourist Office for visitors staying in Grimentz. We understand this will be available in 2023 but cannot be responsible for this. |
